As a company, our vision is to provide a response to spontaneous incidents, whilst delivering excellent clinical care. Incidents can happen anytime, day or night. That’s why we support and encourage our Senior Leadership Team, and our Administration Team to respond to 999 calls in their community, in support of their local ambulance trusts. During their working hours, when not committed on operations, if there is a serious medical emergency in the local area, these responders are released from work to attend and support.
Last year, our SLT attended over 10 cardiac arrests in our local area, being first on scene 90% of the time, and provided emergency interventions ahead of the ambulance service arrival. We clocked up over 4000 hours of 999 cover outside of our contracted operations, for free.
